Derby Road Baptist Church - a Watford Independent Grace Baptist Church

New to Derby Road Baptist Church?

We are glad to welcome you to our church, which has been in this location for 132 years. We want this to be a place where people of all nations and backgrounds can meet with God through Jesus Christ. If you come to one of our services, on Sundays at 11am and 6.00pm, you will find some who have been coming regularly for many years and others who, like you, are visiting for the first time. Children are especially welcome on Sunday mornings, when we run a creche, Sunday school and Bible class.

Morning Service @ Derby Road Baptist Church
Sep 22 @ 11:00 am – 12:15 pm

We will sing together to praise God; there will usually be a short talk especially for the children; there will be a Bible-based talk, known as a sermon.  The children and Sunday School classes leave after about 30minutes. We encourage people to stay and have tea and biscuits with us afterwards.  This is your opportunity to ask questions, chat, and get to know each other. The meeting is open to anyone and everyone is welcome to join us.  We try hard to include those who don’t usually come to church; those from overseas; those with children; those with special needs; those with disabilities.

Evening Service @ Derby Road Baptist Church
Sep 22 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The evening meeting is similar to the morning in that we pray, sing, read the Bible and learn from it. The evening meeting is focussed on deepening our knowledge and application of the Bible to our lives. Therefore we sometimes have times of discussion, we regularly pray together for the needs of the church and our world, and we share The Lord’s Supper (Communion) together on the first Sunday of each month.

Prayer Meeting
Sep 24 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Prayer Meetings

On the last Tuesday of the month we generally meet in the side hall at the church to pray together instead of having our Homegroups.  We start at 7.30pm and finish at 9pm. Other prayer meetings, weeks of prayer etc may be organised from time to time.

  • I am proudly a member of Derby Road Baptist Church where I believe Jesus has called me to serve Him and His people. Being a foreigner in this country I don’t have many friends nor family around or at least I didn’t until God brought me to DRBC where I have found many friends but more importantly a family. A family that represents many nations and cultures but with one head and with one goal, Jesus and His glory. I am grateful to God for giving me and my family a home and a family at DRBC and I look forward to seeing how Jesus transforms this local family of God with each passing day.

    Sermons Preached by Ashkan Sarmadi

Being part of DRBC family is a real blessing. I am thankful to God that He is keeping me close to Him and strengthen my faith day by day together with my brother and sister at DRBC.
I am thankful to God that I am able to worship Him with the believers at Derby Road, who are a real family to me. It is amazing what the Lord Jesus has done for me in dying for my sins and giving himself up so that I can get to know him. In this church I feel I can learn more about what it is to serve God and to have God as the most important part of my life.
Attending DRBC is a spiritual stepping stone in my life. The teachings of this church emphasise the glory of God in the scriptures, and in our personal lives. I did not know what a reformed Baptist church was until I spent some time here. However during my time here, I feel that I have grown smaller and that God has grown bigger. This is a clear sign to me that I am walking in the right direction.
